Hi Y'all.

I turned 39 yesterday. And I've decided I have a bit of work to do on the road to 40. So for this moment.. I will be daring to document my space and my time as I journey to build better habits, learn to love myself unconditionally, and become the woman I was always meant to be. Strong in body, confident in self, and of good character . That really sounds all super serious and inspirational right?  Good... just the pep talk I needed to give myself!                   Ready, Set, Go!!!                         xxBH

HELLO MARCH...

HELLO MARCH...

My little guys allergies have kicked into high gear quite a bit early. Did we skip winter altogether?  I picked him up from school and his eyes were all puffy and watery and he had a headache. My poor little chipmunk.  We've been to the doctor a couple of times trying to nail down a regimen that might help...

I can't believe its March already. I've stuck to my goals of more reading, less tv and social media only a few times a week. Definitely feeling more energized and more productive. I had a little snafu that I talked out with my therapist about the need to pile my plate super high with things that force me to put the commitments I make to myself on the back burner (and subsequently spiral into a complete meltdown). Lesson learned. Keep the commitments to myself the way I keep them to others. I'm much happier that way.

Reading... I've just finished reading Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche and I loved every minute of it. I bought it when it was first published a couple of years back and was reminded that I hadn't finished it when I ran across this Huffington Post list of 21 Books From the Last Five Years Every Woman Should Read. Next up: Picked up a copy of  Loving Frank by Nancy Horan from the library.. recommended by a friend during a conversation about our mutual love of mid-century modern furniture and architecture. A novel about the love story between (apparently) passionate and impossible Frank Lloyd Wright and the married Mamah Cheney..

Watching... Golden Girls. The Crown, The Oscars Oh My.

Listening to.... Let me tell you without a shadow of a doubt that Elevation Chuch Podcast is my Jam. Steven Furtick's sermons stir my soul like that first sip of morning coffee. I look forward to listening and the encouragement and inspiration and positive tone it sets for my week.

P.S. We took the kiddos on a whirlwind last minute trip to Florida over Winter Break and had so much fun.

Yay Beer!
